2007-2008 InvestWrite Grand Champion
Cameron Etchart first person on the left, front row. Along with the other InvestWrite Grand Champion winners, Cameron rang the closing bell of the NYSE.
On Tuesday May 27, 2008, the InvestWrite Grand Champions were publicly announced. The Stock Market Game's InvestWrite Essay Contest Grand Champions rang the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange. The winners are Caroline Hersh, Morristown, NJ (elementary); Hayden Lineberger, Winston-Salem, NC (middle school); and Cameron Etchart, Reno, NV (high school).
In addition to winning a trip for four to Walt Disney World and laptop computer for being the Spring 2008 National High School InvestWrite winner, Cameron also won a $10,000 scholarship for being the National Grand Champion in the High School Division. Other prizes included a trip to New York City and laptop computer for Cameron’s teacher, Stephen Williams, a pizza party for his class, and a four foot tall trophy for his school all courtesy of the InvestWrite program that is funded through the SIFMA Foundation for Investor Education.
